Privacy Policy

Overview

Amendoa is a Chrome extension that helps users identify high-value reply opportunities on X (formerly Twitter). We are committed to your privacy: Amendoa collects no personal data, transmits no information to external servers, and operates entirely within your browser.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Personal information (name, email, etc.)
  • Your X/Twitter credentials or authentication tokens
  • Your browsing history
  • Your tweets or reply content
  • Analytics or usage statistics
  • Any data transmitted to our servers (we have no servers)

How Amendoa Works

Amendoa operates entirely within your browser using the following approach:

1. Data Processing

The extension reads publicly visible tweet data from your X feed (author name, follower count, tweet timestamp, reply count) to calculate opportunity scores. This processing happens entirely in your browser.

2. Local Storage

All data is stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB. This includes cached tweet scores, your gamification progress, and settings. This data never leaves your device.

3. No External Communication

Amendoa makes zero network requests to external servers. The only network activity is your normal browsing of X.com, which Amendoa observes but does not intercept, modify, or redirect.

Permissions Explained

Amendoa requests the following Chrome permissions:

host_permissions: ["*://x.com/*", "*://twitter.com/*"]

Required to read tweet data from your X feed and display the sidebar HUD. We only access X.com pages.

storage

Required to save your settings and gamification progress locally in your browser.

Data Retention

All data is stored locally and automatically cleaned up:

  • Tweet cache: 7 days
  • Conversation history: 30 days
  • Your reply records: 90 days
  • Gamification stats: Persistent (until you uninstall)

You can clear all Amendoa data at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing your browser's site data for X.com.

Third-Party Services

Amendoa does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, or any similar tools.

Open Source

Amendoa's source code is available for inspection at github.com/pedroguedes/Amendoa. You can verify our privacy claims by reviewing the code yourself.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Since Amendoa is local-only by design, significant privacy changes are unlikely.
